The Portage School Board is holding a special meeting Monday on the status of Superintendent Ric Perry. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 Monday afternoon. The special meeting was announced on Friday shortly after the district announced a due process for hearing for Perry who faces possible termination of his contract. Portage School Board president Bo Snyder tells Mlive/Kalamazoo Gazette that new information may render that hearing unnecessary. The Portage Superintendent has been suspended since December 14th because of what has been called an “inappropriate relationship” with an employee. That employee has not been named. Assistant Superintendent Rob Olsen has been serving as interim Superintendent of Portage schools.
